September Recap/October Goals

Yikes. I am so behind on blogging. To say September got away from me is the understatement of the year. And it’s the middle of October. So I apologize that I am weeks late, but I shall explain in my September recap.

September Recap

September was crazy. Crazy busy and just the catalyst for a lot of future changes, which I can’t share about now, but will very soon. I had some health stuff going on and it seemed like everybody was sick at some point in September. Soccer was in full swing which added to the craziness and of course, school. So I apologize for my absence on this blog. Here’s how I did on my goals

  1. Enjoy My Birthday – We definitely enjoyed ourselves. We went out without the kids and had a nice time.
  2. Go on 1 Family Outing – Fail. I’ve been not feeling well lately and my kids and husband have been trading illnesses every weekend.
  3. Continue Decluttering – I decluttered 1 drawer and 1 cabinet. This is not what I wanted to accomplish, but considering how I’ve been feeling, I’ll take it as a win.
  4. Plan out Mackenzie’s Birthday – We went to Red Lobster (her pick) and Build a Bear Factory. She made Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon. They are inseparable.
  5. Make 1 New Recipe – The only thing I baked in September was cupcakes and that’s hardly a “new recipe”. Fail.
  6. Start Christmas Shopping/Ideas – Another fail. I am in complete denial that Christmas is 70+ days away….and have gotten no shopping done.

So yeah. September was a huge fail. I did the bare minimum but I have not been feeling well. So rather than be hard on myself, I will share my plans for the rest of October and November as well.

October & November Goals

  1. Make & Post Ultimate Chili Recipe – I got this recipe from a friend and I really have to say that it is hands down the best chili I have ever had. She gave me permission to post so I will be doing so this month. Woohoo!
  2. Begin Tackling Basement Clutter – Our basement is kind of the catch all for everything storage wise. It’s in desperate need of some thinning out so as the holidays are coming up and we bring decorations upstairs, I want to throw out things that we no longer use or donate them.
  3. Start Christmas Shopping – I need to get on this. Christmas is in 67 days and that does not leave a lot of time.
  4. Begin Research On A Future Project – I can’t talk much about this, but it requires a lot of energy and effort in order to execute so I will begin that this month.
  5. Do Something For Myself – I have not been feeling the best so I want to take some time to engage in self-care.
  6. Research New Planner Options – The end of the year is coming and I will need a new planner. I am using the Erin Condren at the moment, (you can check out how I set it up, here), but am not sure if I will continue using that for next year. I have been looking at Happy Planners as well as something I have never tried before – and that’s these power sheets. I have been seeing them being used in the planner community and am intrigued by them so we will see what I ultimately end up with.
  7. Stay Firm With Work Schedule – I have a habit of overbooking myself and staying late at work and it takes a toll on me and my family. I am trying to hold myself accountable to the boundaries I put in place for my schedule to help prevent burnout. I figured putting it as one of my goals would definitely help.

That about wraps it up for my recap for Sept and what I am planning goal wise through the month of November. Physically I am feeling better so I am hoping to get back on track with posting. Thanks for your continued support! Talk soon xox
