Easter/Spring Break Learning

Hey everyone! We are in full Easter break mode in our house here in Pennsylvania. My kids are home for their break and will go back to school on Tuesday. Since we’ve been off I was thinking it is a great opportunity to share with you guys some ways I incorporate learning activities into their day.

Keeping Technology to a Minimum

My kids love tv, games and their iPods however I definitely limit their use during the day and try to keep their days pretty structured even when they’re not in school. For example: I like to balance their day with lots of outside time, arts and crafts, free play, puzzles, reading, and some time for a learning activity. I have a really easy (& cheap) way of including learning into the mix. Education.com! It’s as simple as that.

The folks over at Education.com have great worksheets and fun activities for kids from preschool to the 5th grade. Both of my girls love their worksheets and look forward to doing them. For instance, my youngest daughter is working on some worksheets for tracing and writing her letters (she is in pre-k) and my oldest is doing some word searches (she is in 2nd grade). They even asked for their worksheets yesterday before I had the chance to suggest them. How amazing is that?

FREE Worksheets

The worksheets are free and there are many different subjects to choose from – for example: science, social studies, reading, spelling, and math – it’s an amazing resource for little learners. For even more fun learning resources, visit http://www.education.com! Check out the awesome spring word search my daughter is working on – below, courtesy of my friends over at education.com.

Wherever you are and whatever you are doing I hope you all enjoy your weekend and Happy Easter from my family to yours!!
