I love Easter – it’s the holiday for new beginnings, and the start of gorgeous weather. As much as I love it, with any holiday there is this unwanted feeling of pressure. Is it just me or do you also find yourself racking your brain trying to get cute Easter basket fillers, different from last year all while trying to avoid massive amounts of candy?

I don’t know about you…but most times, the first Easter basket ideas that pop into my head are all related to sugar. Jelly beans, chocolate bunnies – so delicious but I can do without a sugar rush on Easter morning. I do give my girls some chocolate for the holiday, but it is limited. I really like mixing practical gifts (sunscreen/clothes/socks) with fun gifts. I also try to stick to a budget because basket fillers can get expensive! It’s a challenge!

To make things easier, I gathered up my top basket ideas that have absolutely nothing to do with sugar/candy and that fit any budget and for all different ages. You can build a great basket for under $30 that your kids will LOVE.

Where To Shop

The key for me is knowing where to shop for budget friendly basket goodies. My top stores for getting great deals on cool things for Easter baskets are:

  • The Dollar Tree
  • Target (Dollar Spot) – also great for clothes (Cat & Jack brand is great for kids)
  • Dollar General (Cute selection of pool/beach toys for great prices! plus there is usually a $5 off $25 coupon on Saturdays)
  • Amazon – great prices & nothing better than having it delivered to your door!
  • Five Below (Toys/board games/Makeup/Clothes/Accessories/Squishmallows all for reasonable prices)
  • Michaels (craft sets for $2!)
  • Sam’s Club – great place to buy pool towels (oversized for $10!) and random accessories

Now for the part you have been waiting for – all of the possibilities of things you can put into your kiddos baskets to make this the best Easter yet. Check out my list below:

    1. Haha – I know it’s hard – I allow my kids to eat some chocolate – they get chocolate bunnies and some chocolate in their Easter Eggs. Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Beauty and sports items are definitely something I’ll look into for this Easter. I like putting items other than sweets and candy. This is a comprehensive list, thanks for the ideas!

    1. Me too! I feel like the more candy that is in the house, the more I will eat lol. A healthy balance of wants, needs, and fun without going crazy. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Love this! We try to limit sugar for our kids, and this post was very helpful in being able to do that for Easter coming up!! Thank you for sharing these ideas.
