What Was In My Girls’ Easter Baskets

I hope everyone is enjoying their Easter with family and/or friends. I wanted to share some of the things that were in my daughters’ Easter Baskets this year and what my budget was for the holiday. The places I shopped were: Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Children’s Place, and Gertrude Hawk.

Dollar Tree

I love going to the Dollar Tree for Holiday items because you can great deals on items that are so cute and festive. Here is what I got at Dollar Tree:

  • 2 Bug Catching Kits

    Bug Kit
  • 2 Activity Books (One of Animals, One of Writing the Alphabet – both for my youngest daughter)
  • 2 Bubble Wands
  • 2 Sock Bundles (3 pairs of socks in each)
  • 2 Tubes of Crayola Fingerpaint Soap
  • 2 My Little Pony Coloring Books

Total Spent: $12.84

Dollar General

  • 4 M&M filled Eggs ($4)
  • (2) 6 packs of Hanes briefs (5.95 each)
  • (2) packs of Hanes socks (4.99 each)
  • 1 pack of fun size skittles ($2)
  • 1 pack of Hershey’s Kisses ($2)
  • Suave Kids Shampoo/Conditioner ($2)
  • Suave Kids Shampoo/Conditioner/Body Wash ($2)
  • Gel Watch Them Grow Capsules Sponges ($1)

Total Spent $38.39

The Children’s Place

The girls needed new sunglasses this year so I picked up two pairs at The Children’s Place. They were having a sale, so it wasn’t too bad of a deal.

  • 2 pairs of sunglasses ($13.77)

Gertrude Hawk

Chocolate from Gertrude Hawk

My daughter had a school fundraiser for chocolate that goes toward her tuition. We bought a couple of things, and these Easter packages were some of what we bought.

  • 2 Easter packages (includes chocolate carrot, chocolate bunny and peanut butter meltaway) $6 each

Change for Easter Eggs for Easter Egg Hunt

  • $3 in varying denominations (pennies, quarters, nickels and dimes)

The grand total for all of our Easter purchases was $80. That includes Easter egg fillers, and Easter basket goodies. We continue to utilize the same Easter Eggs over and over again for the Easter Egg hunt, so we saved on having to buy those. I filled each egg with fun size skittles, Hershey kisses, or change. I love to purchase both fun and functional things for Easter baskets. So the girls needed new body wash and shampoo, as well as socks (because we have a sock gremlin in our house) and new underwear – so that was included in their Easter baskets this year. My original budget for everything was $100 so I am under budget. Some may think this budget is either too small or too big – but that is our Easter Budget. You can definitely scale it back or increase the budget – but that’s what works for our family of 4.

What did you get your kids for Easter? Leave a note in the comments.
