Here’s the menu:

Monday: Carne Guisada with Rice
Tuesday: Steak Salads
Wednesday: Grilled Chicken with Corn and Rice Pilaf
Thursday: Taco Salads
Friday: You’re On Your Own (My girls and I are away all weekend)
Saturday: YOYO

I did just post some amazing recipes to help with the back to school chaos. You can check that out here.

What I’ve Been Loving

I’ve been loving going for walks & spending time in the pool with kids. I’ve been trying to take the time to relax & soak it all in. It’s been a great summer so far. We really enjoyed our vacation and had a blast. It was over way too quickly.

What We’ve Been Up To

What’s July without going to watch fireworks? We caught a good fireworks show in our town by the river. I don’t think it ever gets old – I love watching fireworks.

We just got back from a trip to the beach and visiting my dad. We have so much fun when we go down there. It’s so relaxed and the kids absolutely love the beach. We bounced around from Rehoboth Beach to Ocean City and had the best time. No one wanted to come home. The trip included mini golf, a water park, tons of pool time, beach time, riding boardwalk rides, lots of ice cream, lots of tax-free shopping, and tons of eating out. We’re exhausted but in the best way possible.

Beach Photo Dump..

Just a few photos from our vacation…

This was Kylie’s first time driving a go kart by herself. I was impressed with how well she drove. They had a blast.

This was one of the more tame rides they went on. I think they rode every ride in Ocean City.

Don’t worry – the crab was dead on the beach. She was inspecting it. Lol.

The waves are so calming. I love the beach.

My kids are water babies. Slides, tubes, pools, sprinklers – if it has water they’re all about it.

What’s Up With FB Memories? – What I’m Reminiscing About

A lot about when my kids were small. Time is a thief and FB memories has been showing me my tiny humans on the beach and in the pool. I look back at those memories and it’s crazy to see how much they’ve grown and what fantastic people they are becoming.

What I’m Dreading

Having a yard sale. Still have not had it. It’s been hectic and we just got back and I am leaving again soon to go away with my daughters. We plan on having it when I get back because it’s necessary. So I’ll just keep dreading it until it’s done.

I’m also dreading driving alone with my kids. That sounds weird but we have never really gone anywhere without my husband. My family planned a girls weekend and we are meeting up with them but it’s quite the drive and I am an anxious driver. I never used to be – and I’m not when I’m not with my kids – but driving long distances with them, I get anxious. I think it’s one of the things Mom Life has blessed me with.

What I’ve Been Working On

Just like last month – trying to maintain my sanity and stay organized. We have some HUGE changes coming up – stay tuned for more on that later. I have not been writing as often for my blog but it’s because we haven’t really been home. I have a lot of things up in the air with no definitive time frame and it’s messing with my mind. That does not explain a lot but I will definitely share more once things are more set in stone.

What I’m Excited About

As much as I am dreading the drive I am excited for girls weekend with my family. I have family in so many different states it’s been a while since we have been altogether so I am really looking forward to being with them and having fun.

I am also excited for the changes that will be happening. They are all good changes, it’s just taking a while to finalize everything and see it come to fruition.

What I’m Watching

We definitely did not go to the movies a ton this month – but we did see the Barbie movie. It was cute. Stupid funny. My kids did not like it and basically went to placate me, but it was nice. Will it win an Oscar? No. Was it cute? Sure. Did we all dress up in pink to watch it? Again, no. But more power to you if you did.

Since it’s July – it’s also Shark Week – so we’ve been watching Discovery Channel A LOT. I don’t know why I do that to myself especially when we go to the beach every year, but it’s fascinating. And also the reason you will never catch me fully in an ocean. Lol.

What I’m Reading

This month I started Spare by Prince Harry and have been back and forth with it. I finished I Owe You One by Sophie Kinsella on the beach and that was a cute, fun read. When we were at the beach I picked up Shopaholic to the Stars and also started that. So far, that has been cute and fun. Since we got back from the beach I haven’t been reading as much.

What I’m Listening To

TV and whatever music is on in the background. I’ve been working a lot since I got back so relaxation music on Amazon music through Alexa has been a constant.

What I’m Wearing

Same as last time. The classic chino shorts from Old Navy. My jean jacket too. I got some new clothes from Maurice’s – a couple of tanks and cute pants and shorts. I have never shopped in there before, and I was pleasantly surprised.

What I’m Doing This Weekend

This weekend my girls and I are going away to visit family. We are excited and can’t wait to see everyone.

What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month

Next month is going to be hectic. A lot of transition and big changes which I will let you all know once it’s been finalized. So stay tuned for that announcement. Then it’s crunch time to get everything right & settled. There’s still a lot of unknowns which is why I can’t talk much about it. But I’m looking forward to when the dust settles and I can finally talk about it openly.

What Else Is Up?

Remember my thriving plants in my container garden? Well the person that was housesitting for us while we were away didn’t water the plants in the backyard. Only the front. So let’s just say they were a little dead when we came home. They’re slowly coming back but I have little hopes for amazing vegetables this season. Sigh.

That’s about it for this What’s Up Wednesday in the month of July. I hope you enjoyed this What’s Up Wednesday link up on my blog today. If you are new here, welcome!! I’m glad to have you and I hope you follow along!

Talk to you guys soon!

  1. That looks like a really fun vacation! I am travelling individually with each of my kids over the next few weeks and I am nervous and I’m not even driving. I will be thinking of you as you drive this weekend. You can do it!

And I just checked out those shorts at Old Navy and I’m going to go tomorrow and see if I can find some. I ripped a hole in a pair last week so I’m down to just three pairs of shorts which is not enough!

    1. Thanks! It will be fun – just got to get there lol. Hope you have fun on your trips!
I love those shorts – I live in them all summer long. They have great color options too. Hope you have a great rest of your summer!

  2. Looks like a fantastic and super busy holiday season!
I haven’t see the Barbie movie yet – but also looking forward a bit more than I probably should 🙂
Enjoy the rest of your break 🙂

  3. It looks like you had an exciting vacation! I missed going to the amusement park this year. We use to get season passes before Covid.

    1. It was a lot of fun! I like amusements parks but only go on some of the rides – my kids are fearless though and whatever rides they can go on…they do. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Sorry to hear the house sitter didn’t have a green thumb. This triggered a memory of a trip I took to Rehoboth beach years ago!

  5. So awesome! It looks like you had a great vacation on the rides and at the beach! I haven’t seen the Barbie movie yet, but I can’t wait to see it.

  6. I remember fireworks from my childhood. I used to love these shows. Now, I am more afraid of them than enjoy them. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
