My Favorite Essential Oils for Back to School

I know, I know – it’s still only the beginning of August and I keep talking about Back to School. But to be honest, we only have 3 weeks left of summer here in NEPA and our household is in full back to school prep mode which means uniform shopping, supplies, and making sure that I have all of my favorite essential oils on hand to help start off the year on the right foot.

I have my top essential oils for back to school to help keep my family healthy and ready for another school year and I wanted to share them with you. I don’t use any essential oils though, I use therapeutic-grade essential oils from doterra. You can read more about my favorites here.

Top Essential Oils for Back to School

Learn more about my favorite uses for essential oils to get my kids ready to go back to school.

  1. Wake-Up Refreshed – Diffuse a couple of drops of Peppermint and Wild Orange essential oils or Motivation blend (made with Clementine, Peppermint, and Yuzu oils) to start your day encouraged, refreshed, and rejuvenated.

2. Support Healthy Immune System Function – Add one drop of On Guard essential oil blend (a blend of Clove, Cinnamon, Orange, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary oils) to a spoonful of raw honey or in your morning tea. I also love to put 3-4 drops of On Guard into the tub when my girls are taking their baths. This blend is amazing at protecting against environmental and seasonal threats and supports a healthy immune system.

3. Clean Naturally – One of the best ways to stay healthy is to have a clean home and rather than using a bunch of unhealthy and harsh chemical cleaners, put a couple of drops of Lemon essential oil into the water of your steam mop or make your own DIY cleaner with white vinegar, water and Lemon oil. Lemon helps disinfect and sanitize all the while making your house smell amazing.

4. Support Healthy Digestion – Use the DigestZen blend (made with Ginger, Fennel, Coriander, Peppermint, Tarragon, Anise, and Caraway oils) when tummy troubles arise. I rub this blend on my stomach or anyone in the family who is having stomach problems. It can also be taken internally as well.

5. Boost Focus and Concentration – Need help powering through homework? Diffuse 1 drop of Peppermint, 3 drops of Rosemary, and 2 drops of Lemon to help promote better focus and concentration during homework or study time. I also rub the inTune blend on my daughter’s wrists and temples when she is studying or in the morning before she leaves for school when I know she has a test.

6. Keep Bugs At Bay – Place a few drops of Melaleuca (Tea Tree) oil in your shampoo bottles to help keep lice away.

7. Promote a Good Night Sleep – Apply a drop of Lavender essential oil on a pillow to help promote relaxation. I also diffuse 3-4 drops of     Cedarwood and Orange essential oils to promote a more restful sleep.
