Disney on Ice: Worlds of Enchantment

If you have never seen a Disney on Ice show, I strongly encourage yo to check one out. It is a ton of fun for kids and adults of all ages. Trust me when I tell you just as many adults were singing and clapping along as there were kids. No one leaves without laughing and smiles plastered on ther faces.

One of our Christmas traditions is to purchase some sort of “experience” for our girls. Our family went to Disney on Ice last year and had a blast, so we knew it was on the radar for a potential gift. My dad wanted to buy the experience for the girls this year along with a meet and greet with Anna and Elsa. Check out my Instagram page if you want to see more photos from the meet & greet and show. To say it was amazing would the understatement of the year.

Disney on Ice: Worlds of Enchantment will take you through some of your favorite Disney stories through the amazing visualizations of the ice skaters performance.

The Show

The show begins with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy setting the stage to take you on the adventure into the Worlds of Enchantment. I love how they incorporate the classic Disney characters into the show right away.

Toy Story

One of the first main scenes in the show focuses on Toy Story. The plot takes you along with Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie as they escape from Sunnyside Daycare. My favorite scenes from this had to be when Ken put on a fashion show for Barbie and when Buzz Lightyear started speaking Spanish. Everyone was laughing hysterically.

The Little Mermaid

The second performance focused around the Little Mermaid showcasing Flounder, Ariel, Sebastian and Prince Eric. It was a brief synopsis of the movie but included one of my favorite songs, Kiss the Girl. The skaters showcased some amazing moves including Prince Eric spinning Ariel on his head with no hands.

Cars

Following The Little Mermaid there is a brief intermission. Mickey and the gang then came back and on their journey through the Worlds of Enchantment. They begin to have car trouble. Who better to come to the rescue than Mater from Cars?! Lightning McQueen, Sally and a bunch of the Cars gang help solve Minnie and Mickey’s car troubles while gliding around on the ice. I thought it was fascinating how the cars were moving and gliding around on the ice. It was cool to watch.

Frozen

The show concludes with the Frozen characters. It begins with coronation day and goes through the main scenes of the movie with terrific performances from the skaters singing Let it Go! Elsa’s ice castle featured a huge staircase that was brought onto the ice where she sang and performed from.

I loved the show. It had me singing, dancing in my seat and clapping along. The stunts from the ice skaters were amazing and they did a phenomenal job telling their stories. My kids had an awesome time and asked as we were leaving if we could go again next year. My answer was a resounding YES, YES, YES. But if you plan on attending Disney on Ice this year or any year in the future, keeps these things in mind before you go.

Tips & Tricks for Disney on Ice

Arrive Early

Doors open an hour before the show starts. We went right at 6pm for the 7pm show because of the meet and greet. We were ushered through the line and down to the room where we were greeted by staff and did some fun activities including making snowflakes, dancing and building a snowman. During the meet and greet each family got to go up and talk to Anna and Elsa, who were amazing, and got a nice picture with Anna and Elsa as well as VIP necklaces. Getting there early helps you find parking, beat the lines, and have enough time to get a drink and snack before the show starts – because I guarantee you are not going to want to miss anything!

Be Prepared

By this I mean prepare yourself for the ton of souvenirs and food they will be selling all around you. From cotton candy to light up bubble wands to snow cones in Olaf cups, your kids are sure to want everything they see. The food and souvenirs are pricey, so if you do plan on attending prepare yourself and your kids for what they are allowed to get. We purchased 2 drinks in souvenir cups as well as a box of popcorn and it was about $30.

Dress Up

Put those old Halloween costumes to use and let your kids dress up for the occasion. My eldest did not want to wear a costume which I was ok with but my youngest wanted to go as Anna from Frozen. It was adorable to see her in her costume next to the “real” Anna and she got a lot of compliments. It makes the experience that much more magical.

Purchasing Tickets

You can get tickets online on Ticketmaster or Disneyonice.com. Groupon also has deals on tickets for the show as well. Don’t wait though! To ensure you get the best possible seat available within your budget check out, buy the tickets as soon as they go on sale.

I hope this post gives you a bit of a glimpse into Disney on Ice’s magical show. If you plan on attending, I guarantee you and your family will have memories that you will cherish for years to come!
